the line of the lower pins in line with the vertical centerline of the face
of the specimen. The end of the burner is17mmform the face of the specimen.

Procedure
|
1. Apply the flame for 15s.
2. Measure the following times
and record:
(1) From the start of the application of the igniting flame to the
severance of the first marker thread.(S)
(2) From the start of the application of the igniting flame to the
severance of the second marker thread.(S)
(3) From the start of the application of the igniting flame to the
severance of the third marker thread.(S)
(4)afterflame
time(s)
(5)afterglow
time(s)
(6)the
maximum burnt or damaged width and length.
(7) whether the flame reaches a vertical edge
of the specimen
(8)whether
or not a hole is burnt or melted in the specimen

1.Apply
the flame for 10s
2.Record:
(1) Whether for any flame reaches the upper edge or either vertical
edge of the test specimen (2) Whether a
hole develops
(3) the occurrence of flaming or molten debris
(4) Whether afterglow spreads beyond the flame spread area into the
undamaged area
(5) afterglame time
(6) afterglow time

Pass or Fail Criteria
|
New Wave Requirement:
a. No specimen shall give
flaming to the top or either side edge
b. No specimen shall give hole
formation
c. No specimen shall give
flaming or molten debris
d. The mean value of afterflame
time shall be =2s
e. The mean value of afterglow
time shall be =2s
