Comparing TCF to other existing technologies for melting scrap, esp. for melting contaminated and thin scrap, the TCF has several remarkable advantages： 

双室熔化炉与其它废铝熔化炉，特别是在熔化含杂质废料和薄壁废料的情况下比较，有以下显著优点： 

1. Environmental pollution

The process in the closed chambers of the TCF enables complete controlled burning of the contaminants. The process of pyrolys the contaminants takes place in a closed chamber without any pollution to the atmosphere or to the building. Controlled burning and ‘after burning’ of the pyrolysed gases from Scrap Chamber in the Heating Chamber burners and also quenching the flue gas in the regenerator provide remarkably reduced contaminants in the gas led to the bag house.

2. Energy consumption

By the covered area on the scrap chamber the energy consumption will be drastically reduced, because of reduced heat loss from the bath area to the environment. By the integrated regenerative system the heat loss will be reduced additionally and the heat can be used for heating the furnace directly.

Using the heat from the contaminants

The process of controlling the pyrolysis gas and burning it in the heating chamber supports heating the furnace by using the combustibles containing in the pyrolysis gas and thereby reduces the energy consumption. 

控制热分解气并在加热室作二次燃烧，热分解气中可燃烧成份的热量减少了能耗。 

3． Metal loss 

金属烧损方面 

This furnace has no salt needed for avoiding oxidation of the liquid metal because of the closed scrap chamber the metal loss by oxidation will be reduced due to the controlled reduction atmosphere within the scrap chamber. This atmosphere will be maintained for containing no oxygen. No oxygen means, no partner for producing aluminium oxides and therefore all the metal will be molten to be part of the metal bath and not part of the dust send to the filter plant and also will not part of the dross removed from the furnace. This is very important to thin-walled scrap which provides a big surface for reaction with oxygen.

Putting the contaminated scrap into the bath directly without preheating and pyrolysing will increase the metal loss by oxidation, because the contaminants are containing oxygen, which will react with liquid aluminium immediately. 

将含杂质的废铝在未经预热和热分解的情况下直接加入到熔池中会增加金属的氧化损失。因为杂质中含氧，直接加入到铝液中，会立刻与铝液发生反应。 

The incorporation of hydrogen will be avoided because of not getting fresh air contacting the liquid metal. 

由于没有新鲜空气与铝液接触，避免了氢气的溶入。 

The special burner arrangement on the heating chamber in connection with the atmosphere control will support an equal heating of the bath area without hot spots on the bath and with a minimum oxygen concentration. Hot spots on the bath area will increase dross formation and hydrogen absorption. 

加热室烧嘴的特殊布置及气氛控制系统的配合使熔池表面加热均衡，不会在熔池区域形成过热点，氧浓度{zd1}。熔池内的过热点将增加熔渣的形成和氢的吸入。 

4． Safety 

安全方面 

Because of safety reasons the operation of open bath areas should be history. When putting scrap into a metal bath this material should have been dried before. This is the only way providing safe operation without any explosion. 

由于安全方面的原因，开放式熔池已成为历史。废料加入熔池前应已被干燥，这是保证操作安全、不发生爆炸的{wy}方法。 

Additionally the closed chamber supports safe operation. The wet material will be preheated on the furnace bridge before going to the bath and will have no explosion happened. All the treatment will take place within the closed chamber and will not have any impact on the operators or equipment installed around.

5． Working environment

With the automatic control and the sophisticated operating technology the operators will feel comfortable, because there will be no inconvenience due to heat, due to gases escaping from the melting process to the building or due to feeling unsafe, not knowing when the metal will splash around, possibly hurting the operators or equipment installed around.
